Snow Storm 2012

Crazy... Crazy... Crazy!!!
We got hit by a big storm that crippled the Pacific Northwest.
The snow started a little bit on Saturday, Sunday & Monday.
Then it hit!!
Tuesday night we went to bed with nothing
 on the ground.
I woke up at 4am to 9 inches of snow.
I had taken my office phone home Tuesday
and it was a good thing.
For the rest of the week I only got to the office for a couple of hours on
Thursday and the rest of the time I worked from my home office.
When people would call our office number they would get me here.
They had no idea.
Gotta love Internet based phone systems.
Denny is like a little kid in the snow.
I think the total we got was 15 inches.
Most people didn't have power for several days.
Thank god we never lost power.
Denny made me go for a ride with him.
Wow the older I get the more of a chicken I become.
I thought I was going to suck the air out of the
cab of the truck a couple of times when
he was sliding all over. LOL
I saw this on King 5 news.
I had never seen a upside down snowman.
Way cool.
It was just beautiful.
School was also cancelled the rest of the week.
After  it stopped snowing, we had freezing rain and
 ice weighing down the trees.
There are trees and power lines down everywhere.
We are now going to have to worry about flooding.
Stay tuned.

Kissing it good-bye

Denny and I are on board for our weight lose.
Denny has already lost 7 lbs, and I have lost 5lbs.
I'm really focusing on making myself run faster.
I did 8 miles in 105:58mins (including some walking)
which breaks down to 13.20 mins a mile.
When I would run I was doing a 12.02 min mile.
The fastest I have ever ran.
My treadmill starts over when the minutes
reach 100 and the calories reach 1000.
I started out running at 5.0 on the treadmill,
I would run 1 mile then
walk at 4.0 for a 1/2 mile then run a mile again.
When I got to the 4 mile marker
I would run 1/2 mile then walk 1/2 mile.
Then I did a 1/2 mile cool down.
So a total of 8.5 miles today.
Denny's knee has been bothering him, so he has been
doing the bike, elliptical, rowing machine.
He got in a 1.5 hr workout this morning.
It is way more fun and easier when you have someone else
working out at the same time.
It makes me push myself more.
We kicked it this morning.

Good Bye 2011 --

New Years Eve 2011 was also our Iron Chef night at our house.
The main ingredient was Crab.
It is always fun to get together with
Toni & Steve
Kristen & Jeff
Renee & Michel
and I also invited my mom and Bruce for our crab dinner.

We also had a great treat for the night.
Our friend Donna Richards lives in Friendship, Maine.
Denny had been talking to her about our Iron Chef crab night
and she flew in fresh lobster and scallops.

Denny and I did this dinner 2 nights in a row.
The first night we had Ruth and Jim over for their 33 anniversary.
It was an honor to spend a special night with them.
Each couple also brings a cocktail.
Of course with it being New years eve all cocktails
were made from champagne.
The appetizer's.
Soup & Salad.
Main dish.
The guys started putting the lobster and scallops with the soup.
Everyone was in heaven.
Desert.
Everything was so delicious.
One of my goals for 2012 is to put together a cook book of all the
Iron Chef's we have had so far.
Doing the Iron Chef has opened my palate to food I would have never tried.
I try at least a bite of everything.
Can't wait for our next one, the main ingredient is
Chocolate at Renee & Michel's.
Denny and I got soup & salad.

After dinner and everyone went home we went out to Ruth and Jim's to ring in the new year.
Reece is too cute holding the popcorn tin with the polar express on it.
(I want this tin LOL)
Katie looking too cute also.
Loved snuggling with Chloe.
Everyone playing 99.
Love that game.
Reece about 30 mins after midnight.
What a fun night.
2011 was a great year.
Bring on 2012.
