January Marathon Training ...

WOW...
This sucks...
I will never do this again... LOL
This month the big long runs started.
I started out the month sick with a nasty cold.
The last time I was able to run was in Kansas on the Dec. 29th where
I ran my 12 mile run.
I did NOTHING for 2 full weeks.

I skipped my 13 mile run and went right into
my next run which was my longest run ever and it was AWESOME.
It was a landmark for our Wenatchee Marathon (April 20th) training.
14 miles... previous mine and Pam's longest run was a half (13.1).
So appreciate Emily Jackson Scott who ran part way with Pam in the TriCities
and Julie Olsen who ran with me in Chehalis.
We could not continue on the path without the support of loved ones.
THANK YOU!!

This 14 miles was 4 mins faster then my fastest 1/2 marathon...
(My PR for a 13.1 is 3:03)
Julie did 10 miles of it with me...
Thanks for pushing me.. Love you

Again I'm saying I did my longest run ever...
The last 2 runs I would run out Jackson Hwy to the half way mark
then turn around and run back.
Jennifer came in and ran the last 5 miles with me.
Thank you so much.
She did great..
 Proud of us!!!
Love you.

Pam  ran in Richland .
(Her words)
So grateful that my body held up today. Strained my hamstring on
Thursday and was so worried it would set me back in my training.
Used lots of heat for days then adhered to a strict run five/walk one today.
I was slow, but still got in longest run yet at fifteen.

Great job Pam... I can't believe we are doing this.. LOL

During the week I would run a couple miles on the treadmill,
do some Wii Active workout and went to spin class a couple of time.

I really need to work on my eating and how my body is handling all this running.
By the time I get done with a long run, I'm totally shot for the day.
I mean my body can't move and my stomach it really touchy with what I eat
and when I eat it.
People tell me I need to be eating something a couple hours before
I do my run and drink  chocolate milk or a Insure drink right after,
 then eat withing 30 mins.
So I have been trying to get that under control.

Renee found this app. Charity Miles.... Here is their Facebook page.  https://www.facebook.com/CharityMiles

Way cool way to raise money for charity, it's what I'm already doing.
So I use the Charity Miles app and my RunKeeper app to track all my miles.
I did the Wounded Warrior Project this month.

My last long run for the month I did on the treadmill so I
could work on my nutrition intake.
Sometimes when I'm running if I drink or eat something it hit's my
 stomach wrong .

Here is what I have waiting for me after my run.
I have found that a Epsom salt bath helps with my muscles.

My treadmill resets the calories, time & miles after 100.
16 miles total.

The hot tub was the best part of the day.

After this last long run I was feeling better then the past couple of long runs.
I can really tell that nutrition is a huge part of training.
I'm getting to know my body better and what I need and how I need to treat it.

So proud of my aunt Pam...

January 30

This run just took me over 100 miles for January!

 That's a record.
The last 15 min. we're my fastest ever!
There must be something about warmer weather!
Great job Pam... Love you..
With me being sick the first 2 weeks of the month
I only got 63 miles in.

I still can't believe I'm training for a full marathon.
13 weeks down, 11 weeks to go in my
Chi Training Program "Marathon - Beginner -24 Weeks!"
And we are still alive.... LOL

Christmas & New Years in Kansas...

With the move of my mom and Bruce to Arizona,
Denny and I decided to spend Christmas in Kansas with his little brother
 Mike and his family.
All of Denny's family on his dad's side live in Kansas and surrounding area's.
We have never had a Christmas away from our kids so of course they got to go.
Denny's mom Jeanne & Tino, Sami's  boy friend came with us also.

The planning of this trip was a little crazy.
There were 7 round trips to and from the air port in Kansas.
Denny's mom left on the 20th from Reno, with a lay-over in Denver.
Unfortunately a storm hit and they cancelled her flight from Denver to Kansas.
She ended up in and hotel for about 24 hrs, and she landed several hours
 after Denny and I.
Denny and I got there the 22nd.
I have never flown around this time of year, at both airports there were caroler's.
That was pretty cool.

It was great to finally be there...
Susan had the house beautifully decorated for the holiday.

We went to my first basketball game.
Of course we all had to wear purple.

This was the steepest escalator I have ever been on, it freaked me
out so bad I had to sit down on the way up.
Our seats we in the nose bleed section.
Jeanne and I almost didn't sit down.

Here is a video of the last minute of the game that KSU won.
Everyone was on their feet and really loud.

Grandma. Sami, Reagan & Jenna made cookies.
They made some special ones for the baby.

After church on Christmas eve Mike and Susan found out what the
sex of their 3rd child is.
It was so cool that they waited to find out until all of us were there.
They had the doctor write down if it was a girl or boy, then they mailed
 it to their neighbor.
She opened the envelope the day before Christmas eve and baked a cake.
It is going to be either blue or pink?

PINK... It's a girl..

Merry Christmas... 2012

The girls were great about having to wait to open presents.
When everyone got up, the girls opened their stocking and then
Denny, Sami and I took off to the airport to get Tino.
He flew all night to get to spend Christmas with us.

I think everyone got spoiled.
What a wonderful Christmas day.

Dec 26, was Chris's 26th birthday.
Chris wanted to go for BBQ so we went to
Oklahoma Joe's BBQ
where we waited in line for about an hour.
It was worth the wait.

Grandma Jeanne, Reagan & Jenna made him a cake.
It was so cute.

Denny and Mike had gotten Ron & Ray a stone at the
National World War 1 Museum.

We took a trip to the cemetery to see
Grandpa Ron & Great Grandpa Ray
 & Great Grandma Helen

We all had a Budweiser beer in honor of Ron.
Love you and miss all of you.

Then got go to the farm and Jack's cabin.

Great drawings of Grandpa Ray & Grandma Helen

I really loved watching all the kids playing games together.
Tino was a trooper and played "Pretty, Pretty Princess"

I got lots of running done while I was back there.
I already did a blog post for that,

The kids all went home on the 27th and Jeanne on the 29th.
Denny and I stayed until Jan 2nd.
Mike and Susan have a New Years Eve party every year and wanted us to stay for it.
It was alot of fun.
They do a balloon drop for the kids at 10pm.
It also snowed all day...
AWESOME!!

Denny, Chris, Sami, Tino and I can't thank these 4 enough for
having us all at the house for the holidays.
It was an amazing trip and we each have some very special memory's.
Love you guys so much.
We can't wait to meet the newest Wiley girl coming in February.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
