January Marathon Training ...

WOW...
This sucks...
I will never do this again... LOL
This month the big long runs started.
I started out the month sick with a nasty cold.
The last time I was able to run was in Kansas on the Dec. 29th where
I ran my 12 mile run.
I did NOTHING for 2 full weeks.

I skipped my 13 mile run and went right into
my next run which was my longest run ever and it was AWESOME.
It was a landmark for our Wenatchee Marathon (April 20th) training.
14 miles... previous mine and Pam's longest run was a half (13.1).
So appreciate Emily Jackson Scott who ran part way with Pam in the TriCities
and Julie Olsen who ran with me in Chehalis.
We could not continue on the path without the support of loved ones.
THANK YOU!!

This 14 miles was 4 mins faster then my fastest 1/2 marathon...
(My PR for a 13.1 is 3:03)
Julie did 10 miles of it with me...
Thanks for pushing me.. Love you

Again I'm saying I did my longest run ever...
The last 2 runs I would run out Jackson Hwy to the half way mark
then turn around and run back.
Jennifer came in and ran the last 5 miles with me.
Thank you so much.
She did great..
 Proud of us!!!
Love you.

Pam  ran in Richland .
(Her words)
So grateful that my body held up today. Strained my hamstring on
Thursday and was so worried it would set me back in my training.
Used lots of heat for days then adhered to a strict run five/walk one today.
I was slow, but still got in longest run yet at fifteen.

Great job Pam... I can't believe we are doing this.. LOL

During the week I would run a couple miles on the treadmill,
do some Wii Active workout and went to spin class a couple of time.

I really need to work on my eating and how my body is handling all this running.
By the time I get done with a long run, I'm totally shot for the day.
I mean my body can't move and my stomach it really touchy with what I eat
and when I eat it.
People tell me I need to be eating something a couple hours before
I do my run and drink  chocolate milk or a Insure drink right after,
 then eat withing 30 mins.
So I have been trying to get that under control.

Way cool way to raise money for charity, it's what I'm already doing.
So I use the Charity Miles app and my RunKeeper app to track all my miles.
I did the Wounded Warrior Project this month.

My last long run for the month I did on the treadmill so I
could work on my nutrition intake.
Sometimes when I'm running if I drink or eat something it hit's my
 stomach wrong .

Here is what I have waiting for me after my run.
I have found that a Epsom salt bath helps with my muscles.

My treadmill resets the calories, time & miles after 100.
16 miles total.

The hot tub was the best part of the day.

After this last long run I was feeling better then the past couple of long runs.
I can really tell that nutrition is a huge part of training.
I'm getting to know my body better and what I need and how I need to treat it.

So proud of my aunt Pam...

January 30

This run just took me over 100 miles for January!

 That's a record.
The last 15 min. we're my fastest ever!
There must be something about warmer weather!
Great job Pam... Love you..
With me being sick the first 2 weeks of the month
I only got 63 miles in.

I still can't believe I'm training for a full marathon.
13 weeks down, 11 weeks to go in my
Chi Training Program "Marathon - Beginner -24 Weeks!"
And we are still alive.... LOL
